A rousing public reception was accorded to the newly ordained five Bishops of Jacobite Church, at Kottayam. The reception was organised by Kottayam Diocese of the Jacobite Church at St. Joseph's Cathedral.

 

In his inaugural address, Mor Chrisostum Marthoma Metropolitan reminded that the aim of Bishops should be the oneness of Churches and if God is allowed to work in the Church, all disputes will be cleared.

 

"The pain of the Church during all these years are now ending with the ordination of these new Bishops.  Peace and happiness is lying ahead for the Church." The Catholicose H.B. Aboon Mor Baselious Thomas I said in his speach.

 

"The people in the Church decided to part away from Orthodox Group and becoming two churches is the only solution to bring peace." The Catholicose added.

 

"The history of the Christian Churches shows that the ultimate victory is for the Churches who aligned with justice." said in the keynote address delivered by Retd. Justice K. T. Thomas.

 

H.G. Thomas Mor Themotheos, the Diocesan Bishop of Kottayam, delivered the presidential address.  Felicitations were delivered by V. N. Vasavan M.L.A, Kottayam Municipal Chairperson Mrs. Reeba Varkey, District Panchayat President Mr. Thomas Kunnappally, Mangalam Chief Editor Mr. Sabu Varghese, Mathrubhoomi Deputy Editor Mr. K. S. Joseph and Skariah Thomas Ex M.P.

 

The newly ordained Bishops H.E. Mathews Mor Theodosios, H.E. Mathews Mor Aphrem, H.E. Pathros Mor Osthatheos, H.E. Kuriakose Mor Euesebios, H.E. Geevarthese Mor Koorilos delivered reply speeches.

 

Fr. Kuriakose Kizakkedath Corepiscopa welcomed the gathering and Mr. Shibu P. Mathew Pullolickal proposed the vote of thanks.  The meeting and reception arrangements were organised under the leadership of Fr. Geevarghese Thekkanath, Oommachen Venkadath, Bibbi Abraham Kadavumbhagam, Gibi K. Mathew and Manoj Mathew Arayadampackal.
