His Eminence
Geevarghese
Mor Coorilos
Dear moderators
I could not believe my ears when I heard the shocking news about the untimely demise of our beloved Babu Paul Maracheril. He was a true Christian and was a role model for every Jacobite Christian. His departure from this world is not only a great loss for our St. George Universal Syrian Orthodox Church, Kuwait, but also for our entire Church. His faith in the Antiochean tradition was unflinching and devotion to the gospel, profound. As a member of the church board, senior altar servant, headmaster of Sunday School and so on, Babu Sir was an integral part of the life of the church in Kuwait. I gather that he died when he was getting ready to go the church for the VBS class. Just before God called him back to eternal rest, he had talked to the VBS students about the need 'to be prepared for death'. This shows how prepared he himself was for eternal life! Personally, for me it is a great loss. He was a genuine friend of mine who has been leading the solidarity initiatives for 'Theeram', our programme for mentally challenged children. Babu sir was one of the pillars of "friends of Theeram' chapter in Kuwait. We will surely miss him and I know no body can replace him in my mind. My prayer is that God will grant him eternal bliss and comfort his wife and children as they struggle to come to terms with the sudden loss of their dearest one. On behalf of the Niranam diocese and the Theerm family, I offer my prayerful condolences to the bereaved family.

Babu Maracheril
was a great son
of our church.
He silently did
many things like
teaching the
children bible
values and
faith, supported
all good works
inside and
outside the
church. He had a
good number of
friends
including me
with whom he
contacted
through
inspiring
emails. Thank
God him and his
works.
He was good
friend and
supporter of
Theeram.
I remember him
attending the
Theeram
fest and
anniversary
function at
Pallom. He spent
the whole day
with the
children and
their
activities. He
was one of the
leading
organizers of
friends of
Theeram.
We will miss him
here, but I am
sure he will be
there with God
to uphold us in
prayers.
I am now abroad
and will be back
next week. I am
not sure to
attend the
funeral.
My prayers are
with him and his
family.
Lovingly,

May the Departed Soul Rest in Peace – Late Mr. Babu Paul Maracherril.
Then I heard a voice from heaven say, "Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them." Revelation 14:13
My humble self join with the multitudes of Syrian Orthodox Faithful, Clergy, and Spiritual Fathers in mourning the passing of our beloved Late Mr. Babu Paul Maracherril.
His dedicated and exemplary services to the Holy Church, especially at our Saint George Syrian Orthodox Church in Kuwait, will be remembered and cherished for years to come. I express deep regret and condolence to the bereaved family and pray that the departed soul may Rest in Peace.
When our family lived a couple of years in Thankalam, Kothamangalam, Babu’s family and we were neighbors, although I met him only once or twice; being he in Kuwait. However, we have known his parents and his family at large for a long time. I thought about him when I read the unpleasant news about his sorrowful demise. Then I read the following article he wrote in the SOC Digest,
The article is a portrayal of his strong faith and devotion to the divine providence.

We, the friends
in USA of
beloved Babu
Maracheril, are
in shock after
hearing the sad
news of Babu's
sudden
departure. Life
is so uncertain
dear brothers
and sisters!
This is
unbearable.
Well, one thing
is sure, Babu
reached where he
is suppose to
be; in His
comforting
bosom. There is
no word to
comfort the
bereaving
family, but to
pray for them
and for the
dearest soul.
Joining you in

"he was a True
Christian to
look up to"
Yes indeed. In
an era when
people are not
living for
Christ or His
church, he lived
a life worth
following.
I have never met
him. But knew
him through
SOCM, emails and
had common
friends.
I cannot say how
much big loss
this is. With
heavy heart, I
too join all to
pray for him and
his family.
So sad day
indeed for all
of us.

Teachers and

Accept my
heartfelt
Condolence for
the dismissal of
your beloved
Father/Head
Master
Our Head Master
saying something
to All.
For My Beloved
Children,
BE READY for the
Son of Man is
coming at an
hour you do not
expect.
When I Get To
Heaven
At last I reach
my final home
The gates swing
open wide
I get a glimpse
of glory
I can't wait to
get inside.
An angel beckons
to me
I hurry up to
him
He opens up a
golden book
And lets me look
within.
I see my name is
written
On the page that
he turns to
He says you
finally made it
I've been
waiting here for
you.
He points in one
direction
And tells me "go
that way"
So I start my
tour of heaven
The place I get
to stay.
I see the many
mansions
And walk the
streets of gold
And hear the
angels praising
God
Just like I had
been told.
And then I spot
my loved ones
They've been
here many years
(My Father)
We hug and kiss
each other
All smiles,
there are no
tears.
I look around
for Jesus
I know He'll
soon appear
I want to kneel
and praise Him
He's the reason
I am here.
He took upon
Himself my sins
He paid the
price for me
And by His
victory over
death
He finally set
me free.
Free from all my
worldly sins
And the evil
Satan sent
Jesus came into
my heart
Because I did
repent.
I'll finally get
to thank Him
When I bow
before His
throne
For all the
times He carried
me
When I couldn't
walk alone.
I'll dwell with
Him in heaven
With no sorrow,
tears or pain
This was His
promise to me
When to this
earth He came.
There are many
mansions up here
There's room for
all of you
So to join us
all in heaven
I'll tell you
what to do.
Accept Jesus as
your Savior
He will wash
your sins away
He's waiting
here to greet
you
When you join us
here one day.
My Dearest
beloved
children,
ARE YOU READY?
ARE YOU READY?
to go with our
Heavenly Father?
BE READY for the
Son of Man is
coming at an
hour you do not
expect.
I was ready so I
could walk
fearlessly when
our Heavenly
Father called
me. So we all
should be always
ready for HIS
call.
Pray to GOD when
ever you are
going out from
your home.
Pray to GOD for
others.
Obey your

I would like to
recall some
thoughts about
our beloved Babu
Sir. For the
Kuwait church
and Theeram, it
is a great loss.
I am sure we
will not get
such a person to
manage the
prayer meetings,
Sunday school
etc. Last
Friday, through
his speech he
asked the kids
"Who is the
guest coming in
our life without
any invitation"?
He answered too,
"It is death and
we must be ready
to face it". He
had so much
thoughtfulness
and dedication
all throughout
his life.
Since 2007
September he has
been serving as
a general
secretary for
the Friends of
Theeram, Kuwait
Chapter. During
his tenure, he
proved himself
as an
unforgettable
personality. His
capability,
organizing
capacity and
whole hearted
service
mentality during
Theeram
anniversary, and
Christmas Kids
carol made those
events a grand
success.
Chinnu chechi,
just be brave as
my sister who
had the same
incident at the
age of 41. As
Holy Bible talks
to us through
Numbers
Chapter 6: 24-26
"The
Lord bless you
and keep you;
The Lord make
His face shine
upon you,
And
Be gracious to
you;
The Lord lift up
His countenance
upon you,
And
Give you peace!"

Babu Paul
Maracheril or
Babu chachen as
I used to fondly
call him is once
person whom I
have never met
in my life. It
was very
unfortunate for
either of us
that in spite of
the many
thoughts we
shared, the
e-mails and the
chats we had, we
never got an
opportunity to
see each other
personally. I
met him through
a series of
official e-mails
he sent me when
I was in
Chennai, India.
He also
introduced me to
the SOCM forum
and the Global
prayer chain
many years ago.
I was in
constant touch
with him and
used to chat
with him
regularly on the
internet. He was
very proud of
being a Jacobite
Christian and
always tried to
infuse that
spirit into
every person he
met. I had the
privilege of
reading a number
of articles that
he used to send
me by e-mail
especially
regarding church
and other
matters. He used
to ask me for my
humble opinion
and also do
occasional
proofreading of
the articles.
Even on the
morning of his
departure he has
send me an email
and therefore it
was shock and
despair when I
saw the news in
the late
evening.
Later in our
conversations we
realised that
his mother was
distantly
related to my
Mother's family
in Kothamangalam
and that he had
studied with my
Mothers cousins.
He insisted that
he was like my
maternal uncle
and that I
should call him
chachen. We
shared every
little thing in
our families'
ever since. He
was
always helpful
and had given me
contacts of
people he knew
in South Africa
when I moved
here.
To a person that
I have not met
personally and
belonging to the
next generation,
he used to tell
me about his
children and
their studies,
their job. I
vividly remember
that my wedding
and his
daughter's
wedding dates
were close and
so we could not
attend each
others. I was
looking forward
to meeting him
sometime in the
near future.
It is by God's
will that he has
been called to
his heavenly
abode so young
in life. His
demise has left
a void in my
personal sphere.
He has been a
guide and
teacher for many
including the
vast number of
Sunday school
students he
taught. I leave
my hearty
condolences to
his family and
pray that
Almighty give
them the
strength and
courage to look
ahead. His life
and dedication
to the Holy
church should
remain an
inspiration to
all.

condolences and
prayers
