Second visit of Catholicose Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I  to Australia and New Zealand dioceses

19 February Perth, Australia: Catholicos Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I and Metropolitan Mor Irenios Paulose (Metropolitan of Diocese of Kozhikode & Patriarchal Vicar of Australia & New Zealand) were accorded a warm reception at Perth International Airport on February 17, Thursday. Cor Bishop V. Rev. Boutros Touma Issa, Fr. Joemon Thomas, Shri. Reji Paul and lots of faithful were present.





19 February Perth, Australia: The Coptic Orthodox Community at Perth welcomed His Beatitude Catholicos Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I on February 19, Saturday. Fr. Abraham Abdalmalek of the Coptic Orthodox Church welcomed the delegation. Later His Beatitude was the chief celebrant for the Holy Tri Mass celebrated at the church. His Eminence Paulose Mor Irenios Metropolitan, Very Rev. Cor Bishop Boutros Touma Issa, Fr. Abram Abdelmalek were the co celebrants. Hundreds of faithful from Syriac Orthodox Church and Coptic Orthodox Church participated.

Catholicose accorded a warm reception at Shepparton

02 March 2011, Shepparton : St Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Orthodox congregation Shepparton guests can’t be any more significant than the man who conducted Wednesday night’s service.

Catholicose Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I and diocesan metropolitan Mor Irenious Poulose visited North Shepparton Community Centre as part of an Australia and New Zealand trip.
The pair previously visited Perth, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne churches. They will travel to Brisbane today and Auckland tomorrow.

Catholicose and metropolitan blessed several Indian children during the Holy Qurbono.

‘‘We’re blessed to have the head of our church come to Shepparton,’’ Father Thomas said.

The Shepparton church was created last year and is the 11th Jacobite Syrian Orthodox congregation in Australia.

North Shepparton Community Centre hosts the church’s ceremonies on the first Saturday of each month.
